Is it normal to have a couple of vacant months on your long term rental as a landlord? This is my first time renting out a unit and I feel like a failure 😅 wondering if I'm just too hard on myself or is this normal

What should I do in a scenario where I was hired (12+ years) with far less salary than(~20% less) than other members (4+ experience) in team and asked to take 80% of team's responsibilities. The hiring manager low balled me sensing that I am in dire need of that job and now I am stuck for 2 years now. The company is a big shot but I am literally getting paid less than what I used to make 10 years ago. Should I try to move within or look outside?

My natural instinct is to assume rejection if I have conflict with a partner or don’t think my feelings are reciprocated. In process of buying a house, both my surveyor and specialist damp contractor found damp under kitchen tiles (In the grout) & in skirting boards and up one wall. Sellers had work done initially in 2014 on the wall only(with garuntee) & their company has visited and assured there is no damp… what is next best course of action, get another damp specialist to examine independently of other reports? I don’t trust them….. (U.K. Victorian terrace, damp is in the kitchen extension built circa. 15 y/o)

Who is still in denial about a housing correction? The Fed just made another .75% increase. Powell said they won’t stop until inflation is 2%. He also said a recession would be better than the consequences of unchecked inflation. He announced he will bring rates to a “restrictive level” until “the job is done”. He said that labor demand needs to soften (ie: layoffs). He very explicitly said he wants to slash demand and that housing needs a “correction”.

Anyone in CA dealing with increased insurance costs on rental properties. AllState just increased my rates by 46% from last year. I had no claims what so ever. I am considering putting down an offer for a TH in a community that has Mello Roos. It gets added to the property tax. I am looking at paying an additional 5-6k for that.

Online videos say it’s all good because the money gets invested in building the community .
