Yeah. Seeing someone elected to Congress, with a $176k salary being worth $80M after ten years is infuriating. This is an issue that every side of the political landscape can agree on.

ZS1 - as a guy who does hedge fund recruiting it absolutely does work this way - they are interested in 1 thing - making money, that’s it, if you can prove you can make money, they will figure out how to give you a shot.
A1 -if you have a novel approach then hedge funds will 100% want to bring you in - getting an edge over what others / the industry is doing is the holy grail. Sounds like you are taking to some places and targeting HNWs is also a smart move - family offices are a great place to get a shot running sizable capital.

- You can buy stocks before joining and sell them when you depart or get approval to sell for various circumstances (buying a house)
- You can buy index funds or have your money managed by a professional

OP instead of going to MBB, you should manage other people’s money.
If you’re killing it in the market, the $200-400K salary is going to be peanuts.

Unless your alternative is passive investment income that beats the salary during your time there plus the risk adjusted potential future earnings that come with the brand after leaving, you might want to take the offer.
