You don’t go to Yosemite and complain about the size of your tent.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Just look at it this way: the “amenities” of your crappy apartment include The Met, Moma, Guggenheim, Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge... and the most diverse population in the country. It will make you a stronger person in every way
Nice perspective
@AD3 Hoboken isn't any cheaper...just saying
Sassy
It would probably be good if you came in as an intern. Just sayin.
It’s the greatest city in the world but no, it’s not worth it.
Yes. But as an intern... Maybe not... Idk I didn't start in NYC but still am having a good career so far (knock on wood)
It’s a great place to cut your teeth. It’s tough but an incredible experience, and on the bright side, anywhere else you go later in life will feel like a breeze when it comes to your day-to-day and quality of life.
The opportunity & experiences here are incredible. The quality of life isn’t the greatest. You’ll have to make sacrifices to make it work (live with a bunch of roommates or live far away from the city).
It's the golden ticket when it comes to an Advertising career. If you can hack it here, so can then go anywhere and not only get hired quickly, but also kill it because VERY few other cities have the creative teeth NYC will help you sharpen.
It’s not for everyone, but I wanted to start my career in the Majors
Hahaha thank you everyone I’m taking the advise wisely. Does anyone know of good locations that might be affordable ?
I lived in both the Bronx and Jersey to save money and i have to say that jersey is the way to go. The cost of living is lower and the commuting time is lower depending on where you live. Look in Passaic County. My commute is 35 mins door to door.
This is all great, I’m only asking because I’ll be actually starting full time with a full salary of 59 a year and I want to see what my options are.
Yeah, you’re going to be just fine with 59
Yes!!!!
New York is always worth it. It’s your mindset that makes all the difference. Know what you’re willing to live with and without before you commit though.
