I want to share very bad experience I had at Mastercard
I was given offer by Mastercard in month of Dec The hike was less but looking at brand & other perks I accepted the offer & was looking forward to joining them.I got few offers & I went back to them for sole purpose of renegotiating CTC, to have a industry standard hike. They didn't reverted back for 2-3 days & just dropped a mail that they are revoking initial offer as well on grounds that they didn't like i gave other interview

People who are not switching in this time are waiting with pop corn to burst the tech bubble but its not going to burst soon . Atleast for few years .
Even if it burst what do u think most of the people who have switched will be thrown out? Not possible because i could find 80% of my colleagues have already switched in last few months. And i think this salary is going to be the new pay structure. And yes people who are not switching will not always be in safe hands if bubble bursts because they will also be lagging in there multi domain expertise from different industries.

Even if we agree that it’s a bubble which will eventually burst, would you or would you not join an organisation offering you 2x your current salary?

Exactly, so choose wisely. Don’t just go for the highest package. Example- if you have offer of 25 LPA from a small to mid level organisation with less job security and 22 LPA from an organisation with Good job security, make wiser choice.
But see there is also a different perspective to it. Obviously no one going to be paid just for sitting, companies taking interview and if they are ready to pay say reason being market but atleast this tells that that amount is feasible it's just that in regular times we were not getting it
And see we all know Indians are underpaid at any position, so all we can think of whole think a certain correction. I don't think there is going back.. obviously could be some lpa for people at higher position but for 2-6YOE .. it think we deserved from start.
I think in IT , it's your input which decides your job security. No company lays off it's best employees and the ones who is upskilled and can get the work done. Think wisely, I had the same thought. Eventually all organizations will try to get the best employees and even if the payscale is not up this trend, one would need to learn to keep their jobs . So upskill yourself and go get the next oppertunity knocking your door.
Thanks guys for the sharing your thoughts. I am looking for switch but job security is main concern. But seeing your responses it seems this bubble is kind of myth and we are getting the package that we deserve.

Let's consider worst case scenario and one gets removed from the org. It sucks but it's not the end of the road. If your skills are relevant you'll very soon find yourself joining another organization. Life goes on.
