Is the 14-month probationary period really a thing for DOJ hires? If you’ve received your final security clearance and are well into the job, are you still really on probation / there’s really a 14-month mark in the sand?

Yes

Technically yes but you’ll be fine

It is two years at other agencies so count yourself lucky. Though I echo earlier comments; it will be fine.

Probation is actually 2 years after you receive your suitability determination. So more like a 3-year probation.

A3: I thought so too but I asked about my tenure code not changing and was pointed to the OARM policies on DOJnet. It is actually 14 months + 2 years.

How does contract to hire work? If I’m offered $37/hr on w2 for 3 months and then possibly a permanent position, how much can I expect to get annually as a full time company employee as a BI data analyst II? I have a M.S. and certificates in DA but this will be my first job as DA.
I prefer working for what is offered on contract without negotiating, and then negotiate when I transition into the company itself so I have a better chance of getting the contract position and show my skills.
