Is there any way to avoid transformation/augm/implementation if I join a consulting firm? Did 1y of LDP and now doing pure corporate strategy & some corp dev. Enjoy the work but curious about strat/mgm consulting for the $, fast-track, and exposure to industries.

I've been a government attorney for nearly three years now and have worked in the same office/division since I passed the bar. I've yet to receive a promotion other than two cost of living increases (in sum, a pay increase of 6k over 3 years). I know this is meager, but I'm mostly ok with it, I just want to see some recognition. On the other hand, it's hard for me to imagine negotiating because (given my inexperience), I don't feel I'd be able to do better anywhere else. Any advice?

I've been at my company since 2016, and am now a design consultant - speaking to customers directly and creating custom artwork and designs for them. They are all technical. All of them could easily be very technical cloud consultants or cloud engineers.
Tl/Dr. If you couldn't get hired as a cloud engineer or cloud consultant - you probably can't become a PM

I just want a change of scenery because my current firm is bleeding good associates / not giving great training imo / and just seems small. Would lateralling this early feasible?
