Ideally, you should work backwards. Ask them what the range is. Take the top number consider how many years you’ll be at that level and assume that your bonuses will be about 5% each year do the math and back down to your asking salary

Wide range but top end was 260 I believe for my location. Not sure I’m following your logic from there?
You’re going to be working at KPMG, or you’ve worked at KPMG for 10 years. Either way I think 240k base is pretty good. Your all in could potentially exceed 300k
Nah KPMG has notoriously low bonuses. Just assume you'll get $5k in a generous year.
Hi OP. Congrats on the offer. Do you mind sharing which group is it with at KPMG?

Depends on what team you're joining and whether you have Consulting Director-level experience.
If it's non-Strategy, that's a great offer. If it's Strategy, then it's lower quartile and makes sense if you haven't had a consulting sales target before.
Yea that's solid, probably close to the median for non-Strategy Directors. I think the range is still pretty large but the top half of the range is typically for ppl who are coming in externally and thought to be on the cusp of MD.
Strategy D band is like $220-$350. I'd assume non-Strategy is $180-$300 depending on location.
$240 is good but bonuses are so shit / or $0 you should never count on anything.
