Is this city really more walkable than NYC? I turned down a job offer in Philly because my hospital was in an area (I believe it was Olney) that didn't look walkable at all, and the New Yorker in me wasn't going to be okay with that. Plus, I can't afford a car right now.

I am a CPA based out of Canada. I have 7 years of corporate finance and FP&A work under my belt. My fiancé will be starting dental school in NZ by Feb’23. Aiming to be a direct flight away from her, I have started looking into work opportunities in Australia. Can any expat here share their experience with getting a job as a foreigner? Are there any recruitment firms that specialize in working with expat talent? What was the biggest culture shock moving to Australia?

It’s hard to trust the partners/leadership when they want us to return to office as being better when we increase offshoring? Also, the pressure on billable hours when all that really matters is how much our fixed labor costs vs. how much we can bill (which is usually fixed fee or at least a range) and the fixed labor costs of offshoring is significantly cheaper so the hours don’t matter. Am I mistaken by this viewpoint?
