Is this Plaid?
Or Stripe?
What are your living expenses / savings? IMO this decision depends heavily on 1) your ability to meet living expenses with the new cash comp and 2) having a safety net / established nest egg for retirement. If you’re comfortable with these conditions, then maybe it’s worth it to take some risk with that equity comp if you think the prospects of the company are good.
Btw - what firm are you at that you make $515K with 7 YOE?
A1 that’s incorrect. Your bonus amount is low and you’re missing the partnership profit sharing component of another hundred K…
If you’re trying to leave then take it. It’s fine

Presuming you've got an MBA and are at ~10 YOE now, yes, $515k is an excellent offer...
It’s a tough decision. Are you with MBB? If yes, then I will stick it out for a 1-3 years, make md and then make switch at cxo level. But also, it will depend where u r going. Would u mind sharing the details of future firm? How old it is, revenues, number of people etc? There is a chance that things may not work out in a startup, so staying at MBB may be better. I did something similar and left consulting for FAANG.. similar comp range. happy to talk over dm.
Have you tried negotiating. I feel equity is the easiest thing to increase
Not yet but that’s my plan to ask for more equity
Also, never swap cash for equity if the value is same.. Looks like u r taking a 50% payout. Remember equity has no value until an Whitt event - ipo or acquisition.
Agreed if you are joining a startup at an attractive entry point and you have a good understanding of the product and market you should always take min cash and max equity to maximize your exit.
