Any parents who are still on the safe side with Covid? We have a 1 year old and being safe and staying mostly home is really getting to me. Most of our friends have kids who are able to mask up or are vaccinated and it’s getting quite isolating. Especially now mask mandates are being lifted feeling like we can’t go anywhere without risking our kid.

It's a constant debate for us, wanting to see people but at the same time not wanting to risk anything. As such, our circle is very small. Totally feel you on the isolation. I'm hoping warmer spring weather coming soon will give us more confidence in socializing.

Opened a Virginia 529 for our first kid due in March. Any recommendations for funds? Would like to do the age based plan to set it and forget it, but I’m sure the fees are high.

If we have good, free healthcare through spouse’s job (military), is it still worth it to pay for a high deductible plan through my job to get the benefit of an HSA?

For context, we are a family of three. The cost of the health care plan just for myself would be $20/paycheck every two weeks (or about $520/year). Cost to add husband or child to the plan is over $200/paycheck (so I know that’s not an option).

My thought is it’s not worth it to pay for the plan, but is there another pt of view?

Super happy this week is coming to a good end! The beginning wasn’t so great, but our problem kid is finally doing better. We have been almost pulling our hair out because of this kid. We now have a behavioral specialist, male, that comes in the class to check on the child and helps majorly. Since the kid is a boy it seems to be helping, he takes the child out of the room for a small amount of time to help him relax and gather his emotions. I am glad that it is helping the child a lot.

Need advice: is it common to have less sex life with your husband after baby was born? I feel like there is no intimacy with my husband. I only have one kid. He is 18 month now. Since he was born, we only have handful times. Given the pandemic, it made me even more stressful......after long day of work, babycare, and housework, the only thing I want is to leave me alone with beer and Netflix....

We are moving to a big city, and my husband really wants us to choose a housing option that does not have a bathtub. It’s a fantastic house, but that’s kind of a big negative for me since we have a baby and a toddler. Anyone have ideas for ways to “create” a bathtub or something to buy that’s big enough for a toddler bath? Toddler loves his current baths in a normal size tub.

Hello!
I just received an offer from Deloitte USDC coming on as a Investigations Senior Consultant @ $110k, $5k signing bonus, 100% remote position (requested) Can Someone explain what benefits are afforded to me? Is the 401k match the same? Recruiter stated 3 weeks and 3 days of PTO…does that mean 18 days or 24 days? Also, can someone clarify the parental leave policy as compared to core? Can these be negotiated? I’ve been a 10 year Special Agent/Federal Agent and Officer with the military. Tx!
