It is woman's work Wednesday! So I ran across this article in forbes about women and job losses. I have to agree with some points, because I have lost my job in the past due to a sick child, etc. Do you agree or is this a opinion piece? Also what do you do if you are a woman (or man) that has family issues and can't always work?

I have definitely found this to be true in my life. If my husband or I have to leave work in order to handle a kid crisis, it's always me. I haven't lost my job because of it yet, but I could see it happening. It just seems to be something we've agreed upon in an unspoken way: his career is more important than mine.

This is why remote jobs are so important. It gives parents better control over issues they may face with their children. Since children are our future, it's important for people to be able to be both good parents and good employees at the same time. Remote work allows the best of both.

I love remote jobs (I have worked 2 in the past). The thing I always worried about is if they heard my kid in the room. I usually just told them to quietly play in the corner.
Personally I think the odd absence or lateness is fine depending on the type of work. But when it becomes a repeat cycle where you’re working less and less, it’s unfair who’s actually working full time getting paid the same amount as you who’s absent most of the time.
