It's crazy to me that layoffs can just be rescinded. How weird would it be to get laid off and then get a call weeks or months later saying, just kidding, come on back? Would you return to work or run away, never looking back?

I would definitely go back. I hate looking for a job, and I actually like my job. I haven't been laid off, knock on wood, but if they did lay me off and brought me back, I would be happy about it.

My instinct is to never go back to any job that I left on bad terms, and I would consider getting laid off with no advance notice or even a 'thank you for your service' bad terms.

Yeah, if my old job told me to come back, I would NOT go back. I feel would always have a target on my back . As it was, I was not an ass kisser to their boss or hung out with the legacy hires & favorites of the company. I was dedicated to my workmanship and quality output, that was the Standard I abided to.
