I’ve been a Para for 10 years. Most of our district secretaries are former Paras. We make the same so it would be a lateral move. I was the interim secretary at our school so I know the job well. The problem is I can not pass the skills test. They test you on Microsoft and we don’t even use that platform. We use Google. I know excel, word, outlook. I can not pass the excel test and typing . We don’t really type, we slide the mouse and click. They test on skills we we don’t use. Grrrrr.

Hi guys, I have a table with customer information. Some entries are invalid. Way to find them out is by invalid customer name like ‘dguychjki’.. no definite rule. More so like you get to know that it does seem right. How best to extract such entries for further review? What condition do I put in where clause of sql?

I used to have a fitbit. Really liked a lot of its features. Like the reminder to move and the competition within the app (games and competitionvs friends). Hello everyone! So my dream job is to work at a veterinary office and I wasn’t able to go to college for it due to my financial issues and I still have that issue. I wanna get my foot in the door of any vet office I live in Maryland and I will start out as anything I just don’t know where to start. I have lots of experience with customer service and I love love love pets! I have Pets of my own and they are my world.

A paraprofessional's job is more than just waiting for instructions for the teacher. What would you do if they were yours? It's common sense!

I work with a classroom of Middle School ED students. One student, who I worked with the year before, has changed alot over the year. Last year (pre COVID), she had a good head on her shoulders and I thought I had good rapor with her. But over that period of isolation, she tried to commit suicide.

All year, she was much more withdrawn and ALWAYS on her phone! At the end of the I was 'beat up by her - she really knocked my glasses off.

How should I approach her in the upcoming year?

I had surgery 3 weeks ago, almost 4 and the doctor has released me to go back to work sinc either was a work injury. I definitely don't feel ready and feel my knee isn't good enough for the stairs.

Anybody else out there getting a boatload of emails, but none of them pertain to you? All of the emails are geared towards returning teachers and the only thin the paras know is our start date.

I love my job and have been doing it for years. My Principal is good to me as well! The problem is...the Paraprofessionals at my school are never recognized. You have Teachers Day, Secretaries Day, Principal's Day, etc. Paraprofessional Day comes and goes at my school every year with nothing mentioned to us. Paraprofessionals in my department (Sped) wear many hats on certain days and work extremely hard (mentally/physical)! Does anyone else get this treatment?

Hello everyone. Only 3 days left of school. It’s been a tough and draining year.

I will say this I love working with the students . I love getting to know them . I smile to myself when I go to work . I still feel this way after last week being asked my three different people about doing something where I told them that I was not going to do. following day I was then ambushed by admin (where I have never felt more like nothing. Following this encounter with people in charge I had an anxiety attack. This was terrible and I have no trust . TAs are mistreated. Similar story?
