Thought about it a few times early on but with the way students and parents run the schools now I am transitioning to higher education.
My desire is to go back into the clerical field. It is my background. However, after 14 years in the school system my computer skills are lacking. I assist in K. The last 2 years has been like preschool. Students are very disrespectful and lazy. They have no desire to learn bc parents have babied them and they haven't been socialized bc of the pandemic I would presume. I miss the days where students learned to read a book from cover to cover, write a complete sentence and actually write their own short book, recognize their letters and sounds and be able to count and recognize their numbers 1-20 and count to 100 all by the end of the school year. Maybe half of my students were able to master a couple of these tasks. It's sad. I'm leaning towards getting out. I see computer classes in my horizon.
I was a PE teacher for 7 years. Then ended up as a Para for the next 7. There’s pros & cons to each.
