We are paid fairly well in Washington state. I have been at my district for 6 years and I make $20/hour-plus retirement, medical, dental and vison. We are union protected which can be good and bad.
I have a friend who works in the lunch room program in Washington State and she will retire with a pension. Washington State is really good to its employees.
I make a salary in NJ. This is my 25th year and with stipends I make 34,000 a year. Work all day minus 40 mins for lunch. Pay does not equal the job but the joy and thrill of watching the child when they finally understand something is a big bonus.
Minimum wage. I fear the day when employee work ethic matches that #😭. Definitely not a minimum wage job.
Definitely not.
I am in Washington state and we are paid better than many here. My district pays the least/hour in the county but I am still at $20/hour. I have great medical and retirement. I have worked for my district 5 years and am at step 4/7 for our union pay scale.
$12.86 an hour
Just over minimum wage here (until the minimum wage goes up in January. Then we'll be right back at minimum) . I could make more at a fast food restaurant. 😞 The only saving grace is that I have the same days off as my kids (or I will as soon as we are back to 5 days in person).
Oh, and we can't go over 29 hours. That would make us "full time" and the district would have to offer us benefits.
I think starting pay is $14 an hour. It’s my 5th year and i make $17.50/hr
I’m in Eastern Washington been in same district 8 years 17.50 plus benefits. We do not get COVID pay.
Minimum wage
