You are way overthinking this. Nurses leave bedside all the time. As long as you keep your license active and don’t disappear from healthcare completely, most places don’t care.
Depends on how you explain it and what you are applying for in the future. You can definitely explain that the circumstances at the time made that a better fit, and then outline why you want to do whatever it is you are applying for then.

I've been an RN for 30+ years. Never once has stepping away from bedside ever been an issue. Why stay in a job that is not a good fit anyway? If/when you decide to return to med/surg/bedside you can just tell the potential employer who decided to return to the flavor of nuring you started out in.
