I've been approached about a role with a 25% income increase, but the technical requirements are a significant step up from my current job. I'm concerned about getting overwhelmed while trying to close the skill gap. Is the stress worth the higher paycheck?

Nobody can answer that for you.

It could be an awful experience in a toxic environment where you’re on a PIP quick, or it could be a great opportunity that you crush and elevate your career.

Use your best judgement on the company, the role and your ability to do the work, and don’t be afraid to bet on yourself if you think it’s doable.

This isn’t a question anyone can answer for you…

like

True

There is no skill gap. AI.

How easy would it be for you to close that still gap?

Some people can handle the extra stress better than others, so how do you think you will be able to handle it?

Would the extra stress go down after you closed the gap in the required skills?

The questions asked can only be answered by you, since not everyone has the same skill sets and not everyone can handle stress the same way.

You will need to decide what is best for you.

I did it! I got an in-house Paralegal position after years of working and being burned out at different law firms. I was going to leave the legal field all together because I was so burned out and depressed, but I decided to give the field one more chance if I was able to go in-house. Prayerfully, this transition will be a good one.

Is it better to stay put?

Lately, I've been hearing a lot from my peers about how sales isn't a real profession.
I work at a tech startup and it mostly comprises developers. They can't stop emphasizing their importance in the food chain and I can't figure if I'm too humble or they're too arrogant.
This yapping comes from people I've known since college. I have successfully blocked all such negativity but wanted to know if anyone here has faced such scenarios.
P.S: I've already accepted an offer above my expectations
