I just started an investment network for angels/accredited investors to get connected with startups and small businesses. We have 20 pitches and many more building pitches, but struggling to onboard accredited investors. Anyone have any advice/ideas for outreach?? Really passionate and willing to work any channel to expand our network. Thanks you!

I think both a and b.
You need to remind them that independent thinking does not mean saying no to collaboration. You also need to remind them that they need to involve you as at the end of the day, YOU are responsible for their shit.
Imagine the scenario where one of your team members screws up. Who is gonna be cleaning up their mess?
Maybe what they need is some reality check. Ask them a few hard questions - if they can answer correctly then great. If not, well, tell them in the future you are happy to help them and guide them towards excellence.
Also, always tell people the importance of sharing. Create a forum where they can share their excellence story as a result of their independent thinking. That way, everyone can learn from each other and you got the credit for creating such environment. Win-win!
Maybe start scheduling briefing meetings with them. This way they will update you on what they are working on. Since they are independent thinkers ask them to give you more details on why they are approaching things that way and help them see if they are missing something… also try to see if there are things they struggle with that you can assist them: working with other departments, requirements from management etc… see where you can bring value to them too.
I second this. And then schedule biweekly team meetings to have a group check in and also group alignment
Both a and b. A few months ago my dad recommended a book to me, and it made me realize I was doing things right, it was just other factors that made it difficult that were out of my control. Check out Turn the Ship Around by L. David Marquet. It's about how you can empower your employees while still maintaining clear lines of communication and respect, and I loved it. Could be handy to share
Create a RACI for them. Be sure you are at least a C on their projects.
