I’m looking for a new job and have found that small companies send me rejections quickly and the huge companies are the only ones giving me a chance. I thought it would be the other way around. I really just want a new job and I think I’ll have more luck passing the interviews for smaller companies than the big ones. Any recommendations on how to make myself more appealing to smaller companies? Thank you I need a new job ASAP :(

How many matters is typical for one associate to handle (BL lit)? I know it is group-specific, but just trying to get a general idea. I’m a 2nd year and I am the only associate staffed on about 30 cases-meaning I keep track of all deadlines, do all day to day assignments, keep on top of following up with client/OC, and all research/drafting. Partners handle deps/court but that is about it. Is this a normal case load to be responsible for as a jr? I being dramatic by thinking this is too much?

Pros: 50k bump, company is full remote, no time tracking software, unlimited PTO, 10k in quarterly bonuses, vertical move in responsibility and title, will set me up for future roles in different companies with the title I am looking for (so strategic move)

Cons: Its a startup, the solution they offer is adjacent my desired industry, its a very small team so I wouldn’t be necessarily grow my network, tech stipend for new laptop (but they don’t provide a work one)

My title is technically Marketing Lead but I want to put Head of Marketing on my LinkedIn etc. I think of these titles as totally interchangeable—I just like the way the second one reads better. I recently accepted a job that I quite overqualified for because I’m in need of a job. I got hired as a Marketing Manager and work directly with the Marketing Director. Is SEO a lost game for a startup? I read a new perspective arguing that for SMEs, competing on SEO is a long and constant fight against the algorithm. Bigger companies have the specialists and budget to undertake the challenges but for new companies, it is much harder. I also read that content marketing should focus more on thought leadership and creating a community of followers.
