Yes, this is a very good point. It's hard to have normal interactions with people who are determined to treat you like dirt.
It’s not you! People are not nice and I work with them daily! People after the pandemic are ruder and nastier! I do hope your anxiety lessons because you can only do what you can do!
I agree with you. I work with the public as well, and people are just extremely rude and disgusting the way people act, and there’s no reason for the way that they act. I have thought about working from home, but the only reason I don’t is because I need the interaction from others.
My anxiety is through the roof nowadays. Before the pandemic I thought I was very sociable but now it's like an ugh feeling of having to leave my house.
Yes, I definitely feel like my social skills have gone down during the pandemic. It's been a strange and challenging time for everyone, and it has undoubtedly changed how we interact with one another.
Since social gatherings were largely put on pause due to safety protocols, I haven't had many opportunities to practice my communication and interpersonal skills. This has led to me feeling much more anxious when engaging in conversations or networking opportunities. Even now, as the process of reopening begins, I'm still not entirely comfortable engaging with people in public settings like I used to be.
I think this pandemic has really revealed how essential face-to-face interaction is for developing meaningful relationships with others. Even though technology allows us to connect virtually, nothing can quite replace being able to sit across from someone and have a conversation without any buffering or lagging issues
For me it's been hard adjusting to relying so heavily on screens for connection when real life interactions are so much more rewarding and impactful – but it's something that we all must grapple with during these times until restrictions are lifted even further.
I'm really struggling with it. I have a lot more stress now after health issues (thanks, covid) and finances. Combined with how angry so many customers are, I am not coping well at all.
