What is the best way to become successful in the Digital Marketing field? For example I would love to become a freelance web or logo designer. Does anyone have suggestions on how to make that happen?

Look into services like Upwork, Fiverr, etc. to help connect yourself to companies/individuals looking for work.

Reach out to your connections! (Sounds easy, but really though) make posts on your Facebook groups you follow, and to your personal/professional connections to let them know you are looking to help out!

Look for freelance paid social or ppc people. See if they have clients that need branding work and will give you a recommendation. Have an online presence that makes sense (online portfolio or examples). Set up a free account on Waveapps so you can send invoices and track payments.

Work on a cold calling or cold email process. Look at brands who's site/logos are underwhelming and reach out. Some SMB's might be using generic logos or haven't thought to update

First, you need to determine what your core focus will be. What are your best skills. greatest talents and most passionate about- - graphic design? a specific industry? becoming a partner or eventual owner? In other words, tune in holistically to the entire field and your future goals. As you pull all these pieces together, like a laser, go for it! For example, in addition to design skills, you may have the gift of gab. Thus, you are not only a great artist, but a very valuable new business development professional. Tune into your gifts and strengths right away- -then go out and market yourself into a great career. Good luck in your journey!!

Learn as you go, focus on one field first then expand. Also, always remember that the best strategy is CONTENT PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION AT SCALE.

So you asked about success in digital marketing and then went to web/logo design. I love design however that is a small element to being successful in digital marketing. You need to get great at performance. Great design can improve performance or it can actually be a distraction. Go back to the basics -
Know your customer (prospect)
Understand their behaviors
Create campaigns/ideas/systems for acquiring them, keeping them and growing them.

Then get really good at testing and iterating.

And if you love design. Go down that road. It’s important but just one aspect of digital marketing.
