I’ve been out of work for almost a year now.
I had a federal contractor contact me personally. An interview was arranged through Microsoft Teams. It went fantastic. I repeatedly expressed my enthusiasm and eagerness to begin the position.
I was told it would take six months to establish my clearance. Then suddenly, I received an email that the Program Manager has decided to not proceed with my application.

For those of you who have exited where did you exit to? What are good industry exists that aren’t utilities?

Just got let go and my manager said part of it was because I was looking for other jobs. I didn't look for other jobs at work, so I'm not sure how they could have known that unless a coworker snitched on me. Is it worth it to try and find out who or should I just leave it? Can't deny that I'm seriously pissed off about it.

Worst part about being unemployed is the pity face everyone makes when you tell them. If I hear one more "don't worry you'll find something soon" I'm going to scream. Trying to be helpful is one thing but pitying me helps no one and makes me uncomfortable.
