Yes and trying to figure it out
Yes, absolutely. Frequently.
I counter it by asking my direct reports and my management chain how I’m doing on a regular basis. I’ve trained them to give me real feedback - the goods and the bads - so that I can trust what they tell me.
Generally there’s way more good than bad. Often no bad at all. So when an area for improvement pops up I’m ready to handle it well, and if none is mentioned I can trust that it’s because there isn’t anything specifically I need to be improving at that moment.
Really helps me counter my own self doubt when I can point my own thoughts to the feedback I’ve been getting from across my team.
Anti anxiety drugs if you need them (I did). Helped me stop overly questioning things. Being prepared helps - giving yourself time to think, not just ask.
Yes, currently struggling and can’t seem to find a way out.
Same^^ following.
What if the self-doubt is actually your strength? It sounds like those around you value your work. People who "know" they're good, rarely are as good as they think.
It might be that (I'm projecting here) the second-guessing or what-if-ing is your way to process how to continually improve.
Yes, examine the self-doubt and concurrently appreciate the leadership you exhibit to your team.
Why have you started to feel this way?
Yes,
This has happened to me also.
I also try to ask my team, and my supervisors to get feedback.
But this mean being open to receive constructive criticism.
