Q: for FAANG recruiters, do candidates get a reject stamp after failing even at the later stages?
I advanced to the last stage at Facebook (Meta) around a year ago but failed on my last interview, a combination of not being familiar with the process and not having chemistry with the interviewer.
A friend who is a hiring manager recently recommended me and this time without even a HR call I received a straight up thanks but no thanks email.
Does this mean I’ve been permanently black listed?

Companies often hire temps to test candidates without having to go through the onboarding process of a new employee until they know they have a good fit. They pay the temp agency more than twice what they really want to pay for the position, but knowing it is for a short period. Per my experience, you don’t have much leverage.
Often temp agencies pay more hourly because you don't get benefits. Does the new offer come with benefits?
As a tenured contractor and the one paying the invoices for temps, it is common for the temp to get say $35hr but employer pays $70 or more.
The contract is set where the longer they keep you temp the less the buy out rate is to staffing when you go perm. You’re not getting benefits so your hourly often goes down from current rate. The more desperate they know you are the less leverage you have.
Are you prepared to walk? If so, call their bluff and ask for market rate assuming it’s more. But realize benefits are part of the total compensation.
