Why Aren’t More Women Taking the Lead in Project Management?
Women make up around a third of the project management population — a figure that hasn’t changed a great deal over the last few years — and they also continue to be largely absent from leadership roles in major projects.

Annual salary, minus two zeros = day rate. Divide by 8 for hourly
what a neat trick
That works well on the lower end but good luck getting $2000/day if you’re used to $200k/year - realize that’s not your level but just to bare in mind.
I ask 100 an hour, 1000 a day in SF. Won’t take anything under 85 an hour and that depends on the work. (Tech companies in the South Bay will pay more than that, it just depends how much you hate yourself.)
Sr/ACD level $1000-1400 a day
CD / NYC / typically 1000-1300/day. Divide by 8 for hourly. Gauge your audience. Small shops might balk at the high end, if it’s pharma or in-house for a bigger company, try for more. I’ve done 1600/day for financial companies and 900/day for production companies on a good, book worthy project.
Sometimes a juicy project might be worth less. Are you in it for money or work and also realize that if they’re offering a long-term project, they might want to pay you a bit less per day, a lot of places also have time and a half so understand if that means you’ll be capped and if hourly is better then day rate, etc.
