Capitalism has us acting like burning ourselves out in the name of profitability is a virtue. And people who prioritize self-care and their own families? Lazy and uncommitted. Once I realized this, I seriously started shifting my priorities and stopped destroying my mental health for shareholder value.
When there's no reprieve from the stress, even when you're at home. Or when you get an offer from a different company. Whichever comes first.
Right! When your boss asks you to sign up to receive emails on your phone... Say no cause then it never stops and its usually them passing an email on to you to "take a look"
Was thinking about reporting as spam but instead offering this: genuinely believe that unless you know there is no more upward mobility in your role (in which case get out) you have to push past the burnout and exhaustion. Ages 22-28 I really failed to do this and was just clinging to average roles. Skyrocketed (still feel below my peers though) once I owned a gritty / resilient mentality that accepted the exhaustion was mainly there to stay.
Work to live. Don't live to work. This grind don't stop mindset is preposterous.

Maybe previous generations not the generation joining the work force. They want work / life balance.
