I’ve been working from home in Seattle but am missing human interaction. Should I join a coworking space, or are there better ways to meet people in the area?

Office?

Depends - do you just feel the need to be around humans or also socialize? If the former, co-working would work, if the later, I’d join a club related to your interests.

Does anyone have any advise when it comes to navigating getting help and your firm. I had a tough month mentally. But I reached out to my local bar’s LAP. I’m starting the process of seeing a therapist. But my dreads still here. I’m panicking about being short on hours, falling behind on my cases and explaining to my boss I know I’m behind at work but I am working on it. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

HR opinion: Do I have any leverage as a hospital nurse case manager in negotiating earned time? I have 15 years within the organization, left for 10 months to be remote during the pandemic while sorting out childcare as immunocompromised family helped. Now HR is restarting my ET as a new employee. I realize I left, but not on bad terms and I am an exemplar and respected employee. I thought I’d have the upper hand with the nursing shortage but I’m getting the “rules are rules” response. Help!?!

Hey small agency friends with kids! Quick question. Our agency’s family health care is expensive (ranges from $1700/mon with normal deductible to $1100/mon with super high deductible). If anyone out there (at a small NYC agency) has a better plan and is comfortable sharing, would you mind telling me who your company uses? My kids’ college funds thank you!

Can we do a quick round robin of salaries for folks in the Seattle area? Currently making $146K at Starbucks. 32 yo woman. Yes, I know the comparison game is unhealthy, but my hypothesis is I don’t make all that much compared to others which might justify why I am not motivated to work beyond 9-5pm. Former consultant here who took a pay cut so am looking to NOT grind.

It’s been 3 years since I (27F) moved to Seattle and still don’t have a solid social circle. Not necessarily a big group… I’m talking 3-4 friends who are easy going and not flakey/ hard to make plans with.

Idk if it’s due to Covid, Seattle freeze, a combination of the two or other factors. Any transplants out there who are NOT the outdoorsy type and feel the same? And if so, how did you get past it?
