Can you share the work? I need a laugh
Ahhhh I was so close to posting it but I can’t lose the anonymity! This is at the very start of the brand ‘guides’ for a fake tan & sunscreen brand. It only gets worse from this point on

Assume that the outside agency is either owned or run by a close friend of your employer’s CEO or CMO. That’s probably how they got the business.
Ding ding ding! They are friends with the now ex marketing manager. I think she probably took a cut out of it too
Ive been in this boat. Hope you are at least getting to charge for the overtime. Speaking up can be risky if you dont know what the relationship is with this agency, but you can take the initiative of making suggestions you think would improve the end product and see what kind of reception you receive.
I waited for other people to start speaking up then I introduced some ideas.. very limited as they aren’t paying me for branding services so I just throw them a little bone every once in a while
Been there. We once had an agency present a design I had done back to our leadership team as original work. They loved it. Profit! (It pays to be friends with somebody in the c-suite.)
Does the in-house team agree with you or are they blind to the fact that they've been robbed? Until they agree with your perspective, you run the risk of being seen as a salty nitpicker rather than a helpful resource looking out for their interests.
Is there an end date to your contract? Seems there should be a way to squeeze more money out of the gig... but tread carefully. Politics are probably more relevant than quality in these situations.
How long is their contract with the agency? When that rolls around, could you position yourself as their replacement? Would need to scale up from solopreneur to small shop probably, but sounds like you could beat them on quality, service, and price.
Yikes
