There's some person named Julie over there that people don't seem to like
Folks are not happy here since we have had 0 at level raises in 3 years, limited promotions, raise upon promotion reduced (~20% to 13%), eroding culture, and listless senior leadership.
Julie built a culture where only a very select few people have influence over the firm, and even then she really just does what she wants (she’s the CEO and Chair of our board if that’s any indication).
People are salty because Accenture used to be a great place under the previous CEO Pierrre, with a big focus on people-first.
Ultimately, still a place worth considering but if you join know that the vibe here ain’t good.
Edit: Forgot to add that under the current leadership team our stock is down from -380 to ~200 which is devastating to the compensation of our MDs. Our leaderships answer to this is yet another other re org which despite being announced a year ago no one knows anything about.
MCK1, *used* to be that AFS worked way fewer hours. But with the DOGE circus it sounds pretty hellish over there.

AFS is sheltered from much of the crap that LLP is dealing with. While it’s true that the pay is less there, McKs axe to grind isn’t really true. Bonuses are much higher in AFS and are paid more often. That helps cover the gap, but truthfully it does not fully do so. While people in LLP aren’t getting bonuses, AFS is.
If you believe in what they do, there is more purpose in AFS work compared to say implementing SAP at a retail client.

There are some at level increases, however to be frank, it’s been sparse for the past 2 years. DOGE hurt (but not as much as Deloitte or Booze for example), and the LLP profitability has as well. I expect that to get better in the coming years, but time will tell.
Happy to chat over DM if you have questions or want to chat.

This poor consultant really really really wants someone to assure them that their decision to join AFS isn’t a terrible decision that will ruin their life.
As someone not associated with ACN or AFS, I will caution against any gov sector work at this time for new joiners. If you are successful, you will be stamped as “Trump Administration” which whenever there is a political change, it will haunt you. If unsuccessful, pivoting out of gov sector consulting to commercial is super hard. I have piles of former BAH, AFS, and D-GPS resumes that I am trying to see if any of them could be deployed in the commercial side of consulting beyond the general stuff like PMO or data /analytics.
The best option would be try to get into the commercial side of consulting if you want long term success in consulting. If you join gov, be eyes open about what you are walking into.

Some people just have to pee on the electric fence for themselves I guess. Why become the poor cousin of the commercial crew at a company whose stock price has been cut in half? 🤷
Accenture used to be great. Now it's a sweat shop under no-talent Julie. Look at the stock price, I laugh at the MDs that are literally making pennies for the time spent. Multiple years of no raises, huge backlog of promo, mass exit.
