Hello Everyone! Does anyone have a connection at Netflix ! I am an author/marketing associate and truly my dream job is to work on the team that creates/produces Drive to Survive. I am a huge F1 fan! However, I am willing to start where I can and work my way there! I was laid off due to Covid and just trying to get back into the field and industry I love.
Looking for career advice!
Im a new starter in FDD as a Senior, qualified and am sitting for CFA L2. I want to make sure I'm doing everything right to maximise my chances of landing a FO role in a PE/Fund or ER/M&A role at an BB/EB.

S& and PwC are both letting staff go, it's post-CRT season
What's your expertise?
F pwc
It has nothing to do with firm performance, and not particular to S&. 10-15% forced attrition is pretty standard no matter the health of the business. It's how they make room for new hires. Last year was obviously much worse. Always going to be some folks that get let go post-CRT. Welcome to the machine.
S&2, while there is general performance based firings, some groups are having layoffs (both PwC and S&).
Worked mostly in FS -> were you one of folks who got moved to FS from another vertical?
Worked mostly in Financial Services
Really sorry about that bud. Reach out to your network and see who can help; it's a lot faster than applying online. And take a week off before you join the new job. Good luck
Network network network. Double check the terms of your visa, when I was on a tn visa I had 10 days to leave the country and was t allowed to look for another job in the US if I was laid off. It was fine to look as long as I was employed but laid off and looking was a no no.
S& is having layoffs?
Check with your past clients for open roles
Ha , they said it was a good year and bonuses are very high this year at least in FS
FC1, last year the layoffs were pretty much across the board. This year they're targeted at low performing groups with an excess of staff
And that how they can afford paying good bonuses to the "lucky ones" that stay ...
Definitely network and get some legal advice as well. You'll likely need to solidify an offer soon and get the visa application submitted... the legal advice can Perhaps help you figure out your options / where you need to be during the processing, etc. good luck OP
