I've increasingly been using claude code at work ever since it got adopted as an official tool, and I can't see myself working without it in the future. I can't help but think, is classic interview style the most efficient at this point? Arguably, it has never been about who can memorize the algorithm better, but about business outcomes and how to drive towards them. Will AI finally make it the focus of the interview?

This is becoming more common than people want to admit. Many interviews still test “from scratch” skills, while day-to-day work now assumes tool fluency. I don’t think it’s wrong to use Claude or Copilot — but interviewers seem to be lagging behind reality. Curious how teams will recalibrate what “baseline competence” actually means.

Yes, exactly! I think that debugging, reviewing code and understanding and writing a spec are going to be the interviews of the future (not so distant)!

I think it will shift interviews toward problem solving and decision making rather than memorization. If AI is part of real work now, assessing how someone uses it to deliver outcomes will matter more than pure recall.

I have a friend who was let go a few months into his first job after college (reason: the manager felt like he wasn't grasping the training content to the level that was expected). He's worried about if he should put the experience on his resume anyway, if he does will recruiters ask why he had such a short time at this place, and what will recruiters think if he explains he was let go.
