When will be the retention bonus will be paid if a candidate joined TCS in the middle of the financial year. I.e September'22... Will that be paid on next year's September'23 Month only after completing an year in TCS?
And will the Retention bonus will also be considered as taxable income of the the current year taxes(2022-23)?
Looking for valuable suggestions!!!

Hi Fishes
I want to share very bad experience I had at Mastercard
I was given offer by Mastercard in month of Dec The hike was less but looking at brand & other perks I accepted the offer & was looking forward to joining them.I got few offers & I went back to them for sole purpose of renegotiating CTC, to have a industry standard hike. They didn't reverted back for 2-3 days & just dropped a mail that they are revoking initial offer as well on grounds that they didn't like i gave other interview
What is the onboarding process in Accenture.?
Hmm. I’m attracted to engineers..

M1 - He was a finance major at a pretty average school in the Bay Area. What I'm irritated about is I'm working long hours and studying for my CPA hoping to make what he's making coming out of college. I don't see the point of getting the CPA and going into Big4. It seems like I could have just majored in finance and gotten a higher paying job out of college. Instead with accounting, I have to wait two years to make that much.
OP: I was in risk assurance, I work in corporate finance in a mix of SEC reporting/systems work. I got sick of a horrible client, talked to recruiters, and quit after about 1.5 years at pdubs.
Just note that advancement is not guaranteed at those positions. When you're up for promotion to manager you will not only be going up against internal competition, but also managers who are leaving B4.
^What school did your friend graduate from and what did they study? I'd guess they studied finance, not accounting. F,P&A pays more than corporate accounting positions. So no, a corporate accounting position would not pay a $5K - $10K premium over an F,P&A position. You need to compare apples to apples.
FP&A is thrown around a lot but means a lot of different things. I work in Corporate FP&A, but some SFAs are glorified accountants, others are actually heavily involved in strategy, etc. need to make sure you're comparing apples to apples.
At SFA1: also in Risk Assurance now at PwC. Was thinking if I could apply for Corporate Finance jobs. Don't have a CPA though but will get a CISA but I don't think that will be useful for a Financial Analyst job. What's your strategy on hunting those kinda jobs? I'm not sure if I want to do IT audit after PwC.
Probably not a huge difference if you leave after 2 or 3 years. You'd be looking at low level senior positions. Salary range likely $70K - $80K.
Someone I know just graduated and got an FP&A role making $75K starting. Shouldn't I make at least $5-$10K more? I'll have my CPA and work experience.
The payout from CPA/B4 route comes 5 years down the line on exit opportunities. If you're not able to stick with PA for that period of time then you're right, it probably doesn't make sense.
You're exposed to a lot of technical knowledge in PA. Probably far and beyond what any of your industry peers see. The SEC and Fortune 500 exposure is valuable, however, you don't start to see that value until you're around the 5 year mark.
SFA1 - What do you do and how did you get into your position?
Yeah around 80k unfortunately. I recently met with a recruiter. I am a new senior + have my cpa license and thought there would be stuff out there for 90k+. I don't do SEC or Fortune 500 though (regional public firm).
Unfortunately you're right. Finance in general is a higher paying field
For a lot less work 😐
@OP I'm also at PwC SF. In the Bay Area in particular, the pay in public is significantly less than industry. I just finished my second year and am regularly getting offers in the 85-95k range. So I'd say you should be able to expect at least 80k after your second busy season, which is a lot more than what pwc is paying. I currently make 70k for reference.
PwC 2 - okay that gives me a little bit of hope. What LoS are you in? And what kind of positions are being offered to you? Is it through recruiters on LinkedIn?
Audit. Yes through recruiters and have also interviewed at a couple places. Looking to leave soon as well. Mostly senior accountant and financial analyst type roles.
PwC 3: I passed the CISA while at PwC because I wanted to show I was on the path to senior, but a CPA is more useful for corporate finance in my opinion. I leveraged my systems knowledge into getting my role (a lot of corporate finance gigs involve cleaning up dirty, shitty data and identifying crappy downstream controls), and my IT knowledge gave me a massive leg up on everyone that had only done standard core audit work in their past, but the CISA is meaningless here. This job was created for me, however - 95% of ex-RA people took another IT Audit role elsewhere. If you want to get out of IT Audit, you will need to talk to dozens of recruiters, because most will just keep pushing IT Audit roles at you.
