Any advice on where to find the best “profile guides” for the top MBA programs? I find that the school descriptions on poets and quants are a bit outdated.

Recent college grad doing IT audit at a fairly well-established accounting firm (not Big 4, but top 10). College was good but not Ivy League or anything like that. Grades were around 3.4-3.5.

If my goal is to maximize my chances of working for MBB, which of these paths would you personally take?

1.) Stay on current team, try to get promoted as fast as possible

2.) Stay at current firm but try to switch from risk advisory to a management consulting team

3.) Get an MBA

4.) Other?

Do gap really matter at the time of shortlisting or hiring a fresher(MBA graduate) at Infosys for the Associate consultant role ??

I started a new job recently and then had my PTSD seriously triggered, plus a panic attack. Felt so on edge and low on emotional resources for over a week that I wasn’t myself and apparently really rubbed a few people the wrong way so I was called in for a talking to 😣. Just finishing my first week in as an audit intern and genuinely I have no idea what I'm doing or even a general idea of the audit process. The senior associate left the engagement last week so it's just me and an associate, and they don't have time to give me instruction.

Am I stupid or did the e-learns not prepare me for any of this? The training told me I'd be auditing cash but I haven't even touched a bank reconciliation.

I’m 4 rounds into the interview process for an Assistant Controller position in SoCal.

For the next round, I’ll be meeting with the Controller, Accounting Manager, and 5 other junior accounting staff.

I’ll have 30 minutes to explain a month-end close task (of my choice) to the accounting team.

Also, I’ll have to analyze a random reconciliation and explain improvements that can be made.

I’m just a 2nd year manager, so I’m getting so nervous, and any insight or tips would be appreciated!
