Depending on how complex your life is it could take some time. I’d interview, there’s no harm in seeing what’s on offer and if it takes 12 months then you can decide at that point if it’s for you.

I would tell them the same vs outright rejecting. Like “I’m pretty content my current role , and I got promoted. And I’m not looking to switch, but happy to have a discussion”. Unless you have absolutely zero interest in the job
I already spoke with them earlier this week to learn more about the role and was caught off guard when they said they’re hiring and asked if I’m interested. Might email to let them know I’d be interested in future. I’m looking to transition projects internally as my current role is not my favorite
A lot can happen in 6-12 months. I should hope anyone giving the interview would be cognizant and considerate of that.
