I’ve visited close to 40 countries, just not Italy. I’ve been running away from it but it’s catching up to me. I can get a direct flight to Rome, but the tourist crowds, safety, and pickpockets have turned me off, and I like going to countries not packed with tourists. I’ll go in March (which will still be busy) but want to explore quieter places. I love Italian wine and food so will be happier in calmer spots
