Just curious, but how can you tell if someone can be a good creative director? What's the interview process like and what exactly are you assessing? I don't get to work very closely with my own CD so I really don't know what it takes to land the role. All I do know is that he is a great orator. What else does it mean to be a good CD?

Processes vary by company, but typically it’s: portfolio review, behavioral interviews about leadership and conflict, sometimes a presentation or working session to see how they think and communicate in real time. The baseline assumption is they know craft; what recruiters and hiring managers are really testing is: can this person run the room, grow the work, and not burn the team to the ground in the process.

600sqft 1 bedroom in kips bay, $1800 (walk-up, no laundry in building, no doorman) for year lease

Would be moving from 6th floor walk up $1400 month to month in prime LES with two roommates(not my best friends but nice).

Would you move?

Considering:
1. costs to make the move itself
2. I like to run so options downtown seem better but not familiar with kips Bay Area
3. Commuting anywhere
4. Restaurants
5. I’m 23

Have an offer from a dream company but I'll need to go in at a lower level. Knowing that I can bring a lot of value to the company (read- I know my worth), I negotiated with the hiring manager to have a level/comp review 6 months after employment. If I hit all my goals (ie, prove myself) within that time frame, I'll get a promotion and salary adjustment.
QUESTIONS:
Should this be in writing in the offer letter?
How detailed should it be? I assume I won't know what goals to set till I start...
