Working on some law firm applications tonight and it sucks that I know that I am so capable and have a strong work ethic but firms can’t see beyond grades or the fact that I didn’t go to a t14 law school or prestigious undergrad. I’ve worked twice as hard and feel like I’ve barely even gotten half as much. It’s discouraging sometimes especially because I worked so hard with pretty much no guidance (first gen, poc, low-income) to get into college and do well and then get into a t30 law school

How to move things along with forgetful partners? I am a new 1st year and I am staffed with a partner who is swamped. They are great but otherwise very busy and occasionally forgetful (meetings with other partners or associates, assignments to review, responding to others). Is there a way to appropriately remind them of things without being an irritating junior?

I was very well liked at my prior firm and had high hours so really struggling to understand why folks don’t seem to want to come back to me with more work. Thoughts on recording meetings. In Texas and have ADHD. I’ve been recording internal meetings for the past couple of weeks and my work product has improved exponentially.
