IT audit exit opportunities? Where do I begin?
Hi there, I’ve been told that Deloitte (London, UK) is going to make me an offer but haven’t heard back and it’s been over two weeks. The recruiter mentioned it would be around the “m2 grade”. Any idea what this pay range is? … I have 3 YOE working in NHS finance and have applied for a position in Risk Advisory, public sector. Curious what life at Deloitte is like? Does a work life balance exist?
Can anyone give an opinion about joining Cognizant Bangalore now ? I have 1.8 YoE and they are offering a pretty good hike but I have heard news like there's managerial changes happening rn and many people are leaving the firm. Your opiniors will greatly help me in making a career decision.

I lateraled to midlaw as a partner during my 8th year. I was up for partner in my biglaw firm and I am 99% sure I would have made it. However, by then I had realized my big law firm only really cared about its existing 20-30 big name clients and about ten partners (out of 1500 lawyers) controlled those clients. So even as a partner in biglaw I was going to get screwed. So I left and took some small clients with me and make twice as much in midlaw as I would have in big law. It is harder to attract talent down here in an AM LAW 200 firm but I am a rainmaker here (2.8ish book) and can hire whomever I want within reason.
Keeping in touch with people is so key. It’s basic BD blocking and tackling but so many people don’t do it. If you’re interested in BD, I highly recommend a book called Get Rich, Build a Power Niche. Profoundly corny/dumb name, but great book. On the other hand, you have a 2.8M book so I don’t think you need any tips!
Corporate finance. Big law for 2.5 years, mid-law for 6 months in a corporate generalist role, been in-house for 6 months now. I am finally enjoying being a lawyer and excited to see where my career goes
I’m making the move in house in a few weeks after 3 years in big law and this makes me so happy to hear. Thanks for sharing!
In house to become a product counsel in big tech. I did a lot researching about product counsel roles, talked to some friends that had made them switch, then found a posting on LinkedIn and applied. Much better hours and autonomy, and projects are a lot more interesting too. I will never go back.
