Is there any status perks on Virgin America? New project location and literally it is the only nonstop from my city unless I want to get home at 1245am Friday Mornings...
Fellow consultants, I’m struggling and I know complaining about this will only make me look weak but I need to vent. I’ve been working upwards of 60 hours a week since January and I’m tired. If I was doing meaningful work, it would be one thing but most of my days are spent supporting my client with fire drills that end up not mattering. He’s very reactionary and trying to guide him to hold off or think of other approaches doesn’t work. (Cont).
The long and the short of it. I was laid off a couple of months ago, the clients on the account I ran loved me. Can I hit the client up about freelance? The non-solicitation part in my severance package mentions something about a year (which hasn’t passed yet), but still I’m no lawyer and it’s mostly mumbo jumbo to me.
Is it just me or does your manager also sometimes tends to ignore you post a not so successful client meeting? I am new to this corporate scenario, please tell me how do I reach out to my manager without sounding needy? Is it okay for my manager to ignore me post a client call?
Let's say I have 100k invested in a SaaS startup that went public. I'm 28, employed, have another 35k invested in ETFs/dozen other stocks and have maxed out my 401k and roth contributions. I'm bullish on the startup for the long term. Would you: 1) Recoup your initial investment pre-IPO and let the rest ride 2) Sell the full 100k, pay capital gains tax, and diversify 3) A mix of both, and if so what allocation
Hi ladies! Need some advice on a project I’m on where there are two female analysts (I am one of them) and two male leads. Continued...
I understand that traditional vs. Roth 401k depends on tax bracket now vs. expected tax bracket in retirement. And of course there is the risk of changing tax laws. But what if you just don't know? Do you just split 50/50? Or once you're making over a certain amount, does it naturally make more sense to lean towards traditional? Not sure what other people do and what income level they make the shift to traditional, if at all.
hi everyone! I just received an offer to join Deloitte Digital‘s client strategy consulting group at the SC-level for 140k with a 10K signing bonus. Is this on par with the rest of the firm or should I counter with a higher number? 3 Years of relevant experience. Thank you!
Im someone with a "business" background (supply chain, procurement) that went to work for as a consultant for tech consulting firm after finishing my MBA, but now having trouble finding a project. Got my PSM 1 cert, but not sure what else to do. Not a technical person, never coded. What would you recommend someone in my position to focus on? I'd like to remain on the project management/BA side of the business. TIA!
Say you're freelancing client side. Decent work. Nice people. Not super demanding. To go full-time (assuming you're interested), what % of your freelance rate annualized would you expect?
Hey. Just completed a kick ass workshop with a great client. Do you guys have cool collaboration capability where you work?
Realize someone recently asked this in the main bowl, but... Why don’t we have anything in place to track actual hours worked vs. the 40 billed to the client? Could provide many insights
New to freelance: 40 hours/week in contract but put on a high profile project that requires weekend work or overtime. Bill? If so, how would you go about it since the contract is 40 hours/week? Should I just include it in the invoice/timesheet or should I also plan to have a conversation with my supervisor or HR or Accounts Payable beforehand? Also keeping in mind that I hope to get contract extended, which is in my contract [tentative].
If I’ve been asked to take a drug screen after I’ve already been confirmed and have used Marijuana in the last several days, will the client even care if it’s just some pot?
Question mainly for those who made the move from Agency to Client roles. How did you initially make the switch: - recruiter/headhunter - job aggregator site such as LinkedIn or Indeed - specific specialist site (would love to know details) - found and applied for role directly on company site - through personal/professional connection - other (details, if you'd be so kind)
How much money is enough money? I know you’re probably raising an eyebrow at this question but I grew up in a financially unstable household and I never had talks with parents about money matters… grateful to have a salaried legal now job but am always wondering… when will it ever feel like there’s enough?
What is the most ‘chill’ and least stressful line of service in consulting? Or is it mainly just project dependent? I was on one project for 6 months, boring as all hell but I only worked 30 hours a week.
Ideas for client gifts this year? Typically has been a nice bottle of wine, but only to the clients I had previously shared drinks with so I knew they were wine drinkers.
If my firm allows both traditional and Roth 401K, which one should I invest in? 27 years old, $90k salary.
MBB? More like DPEK
FYI lyft “As business travel across the country has slowed due to COVID-19, we've decided not to extend our $5 for every 5 business profile ride rewards program beyond its current March 31 end date.”
Hi CGI fishes, Can you please help me refer for this position id: J0821-1911 Thanks in advance
Is Accenture sponsoring H1B at M& SM levels? If so, how responsive is their legal team for H1B / GC related filings?
Can you apply for Diversity Lottery while u r on non immigrant visa (F1, H1B, O1)? Would this action cause conflict from dual intent perspective nd jeopardize ur employment based GC in future?
I've written on my resume that I'm a US Citizen (literally the first thing on the next line after my name) but literally every HR person I've spoken to recently immediately asks if I need visa sponsorship. Is it just something that ATS doesn't screen for usually? I'd hope a human is actually reading my resume. I don't want to be that person that says "yes, it's on my resume" lol
Anyone feel like maternity leave affected their raise and bonus? I don't feel like my numbers were adjusted and feel like I am getting the run around
Real talk: does anyone else find all the bragging about super high billable hours kind of sad? There is more to life and it just reads like life not being lived. 😔
Potentially interviewing for an Accounting Information Science position with Deloitte. Anyone have feedback about the AIS day to day and work life balance? Thanks!
16w pregnant w/ 2nd child and have an interview for a job I want. When should I tell the potential employer? I know it’s illegal to discriminate...but also want to be strategic. Any advice?
Front row. Empty middle seat. Heading back home. Promotion confirmed. Cheers everyone 🥃
Is there an appropriate way to turn down an assignment because it is non-billable? Two of the partners I work for keep asking me to write client bulletins and articles with them, which is great, but now I’m starting to worry about meeting my billable hours requirement.

Is anyone successfully negotiating permanent WFH despite roles calling for relocation? Any insight on how to navigate? This is for big tech/FAANG companies
