Bain & Company Hi! Anyone at Bain & Company willing to provide referrals to the London office? PhD background in bioengineering, currently at a life science boutique (ClearView, Health Advances, Trinity, Putnam etc) with a interest in the healthcare PE practice. Happy to send resume over to see whether it’s a good fit, thanks!

Cannot speak to the UK visa process, but the EU has a range of country specific visa conditions and you have several options for work visas starting with the EU Blue card being the easiest for the Netherlands and Germany. They have tons of job listings on LinkedIn and you just have to start applying and know that the process takes a lot longer than the US from interview to offer, then tack on 2-5 months for the visa. Don’t you need to be certified to practice law for a specific country like the bar in the states? I would see this as your greatest challenge.
No. There are many firms that hire Americans, especially large firms that want help with the American side of the law. As long as you’re not directly being the client facing person unless advising about US law, they’re fine. I know many lawyers in the UK, Europe and Australia who are Americans who aren’t qualified. I also regularly speak to Australian and European lawyers at firms in California and New York for deals I’m working on who aren’t qualified in any American jurisdiction 😊 thanks for the advice re Netherlands and Germany!
