Last year, completed my bachelors degree in Accountancy with first class honours. Applied more than 500 jobs but the only thing I receive is "unfortunately" and "unsuccessful " emails from the employers because I don't have any experience on my degree as I was full time student.
Tried to look for volunteer, but no one gave opportunity because of experience as they wanted experienced.

Disappointed. Have no words to describe my feelings.

I just wanted to be an Accountant and proud on myself.

Apply at cpa firms

Don’t get discouraged. You’ll eventually find something. It’s the job market. Some of us have the education, years of experience and still can’t find a job. After the beginning of the year things will get better. Hang in there.

like

OP this is such a challenging job market especially for new grads and I am sorry to hear that you are having a tough time.I would definitely recommned networking as much as you can and trying to get referrals to help you get your foot in the door somewhere.

like

You should reach out to the recruiters at all topn15 cpa firms in the US and you will land something without a doubt.

like

What kind of accounting jobs are you applying for?

All cpa firms hire interns and staff with 0 years of experience. As long as you have a degree and are personable you should be able to get a job for this busy season.

No friends made in school? I got my first internship from a friend recommending me and bypassed all the application nonsense.

My god….thats terrible. What in the world??

Apply at Deloitte and Touché and similar CPA firms. They are good at training and need bodies to fill jobs. You can either climb the ranks or use the experience to learn about their customers and apply at one of those companies that you find has the best qualities.

Have you tried the federal government?

Have you tried the federal government? USAjob.gov
See if your see the Acounting Department has been sent any jobs openings When I started working for the government anytime they were open a new grad positions I sent them to my college Acounting Department.
Try Deloitte. Just beware if you go to the one the one of the big four you will be working a lot and you will travel a lot. Deloitte has opened a new division called Deloitte service center it is supposed to be I no travel. believe and it's supposed to be a division but the hours are still going to be the same. Also search your job as" recent graduate"because a lot of the firms are looking for fresh talent. Try state jobs, try County jobs don't know where you are located but we have a ton of listings for accountants and auditors. And you can also try a temp agency. If all else feels start reaching out to recruiters and companies you want to work for. If you have any more questions about applying to the federal government please let me know. The federal government application process is different than a regular job application process. Also search adjacent jobs perhaps I have an accounting degree but I am a compliance auditor. So auditor, analyst financial auditor....etc. I'm sorry if this is repeat information I know you have applied for a lot of jobs hopefully something in this paragraph can help you.

So I say this with complete humility and an understanding that this is a fortunate-ish situation to be in. I’m in a position where I am tied to nothing, I have no children, spouse, or house. My job, which I’ve loved until some recent significant leadership changes, is sucking the life out of me and I think it may be time for a change. Because I am able to “pick up and go” I’m open to opportunities and locations. I’ve never worked with a recruiter but was hoping I could get some recommendations!

Hi fishes,

Got an offer from Amazon for Data Engineer-2

Yoe-2

Base - 20LPA
Bonus - 10LPA (over 2 years)
RSU-137 (over 4 yrs) worth 13.5 LPA,standard Amazon vesting

I moved to my current company just a month back but Amazon process was in progress, so leaving in probation. I don't think they considered TC of my current company (17 LPA from 7.5 LPA) as it's been just a month. Any views regarding the offer and TC offered.

Thanks already!

Cheers

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.

Anyone here going through New Jersey for CPA license?

Interested to hear more of your experience especially about the extra forms we need to submit! Already passed REG, AUD, and FAR. Planning to take BEC in Oct/Nov.

Is the CPA designation worth it? For me it would take me 1 year of PREP courses and 2 years of PEP until i can write the CFE. And I am 27 years old right now. Also wondering if it would be crazy to pursue the CPA while learning how to code to be a developer as well?
