Hoping to get in touch with #Peraton recruiter! I have about 9 months left in Air Force where I work in cyber defense and vulnerability management, have a BA in cybersecurity, sitting for CISSP and have lots of certs. Would love to chat with someone about opportunities. Hold a clearance and could technically start in 7 months. Any help is appreciated!! Thank you.

Rich people own assets, poor people own liabilities
Importantly it is true. There are two measures (and I suppose many more, but in regards to wealth) of 1%, income and wealth. Being 1% or wealth feels rich, whereas 1% of income hasn’t reached the tipping point of capitalism yet where your money works for you
Donate 50% of your money. You’ll feel richer.
I started giving a very little money every month. Man I feel so much better after I started doing that. It might be a dumb advice, but you start appreciating your wealth better when you often interact with people who don't have it. I give to givedirectly. Check it out.
#humblebrag much?
@C7 weird flex but okay
This type of posts depresses me tbh.
You don't feel rich because you're definition of happiness is messed up. Also don't rent and pay off those loans.

Rich or poor is in the mind. You make much more than median American salary. Count your blessings. There are many people who do not have resources you have.
You are actually rich. You may not be uber rich but you were rich in 2018. Being rich is relative to others. Relatively to others you could afford way more luxuries than the average person.
You don’t feel rich because your expectation of being rich is probably closer to $1M per year of income
One of the defining features of being in the 9.9% (top tenth but not .1%) is that you don't feel anywhere near rich:

Also a very good article
How do you define rich? What are you really missing?
Gotta find happiness outside the cash OP. You're wayyyyy more well off than 95% of the country, especially for your age. More money isn't going to make you feel Rich, it's going to make you feel more financially stable while you pursue the things in life that matter. Family, hobbies, passions.
Don't get caught up on the rat race. I'm happy you're doing so well financially so young (got me beat by a mile). But you'll never be happy if that's the metric you use to determine if you're "Rich"
Also I’ve found generally that lifestyles of young professionals are more expensive than they have to be. Not saying that’s the case with you, but I’ve known people who say what you’ve said and then refuse to take the train to work and only Uber, get the new iPhone as soon as it comes out etc.
You already know that you’re better off than the overwhelming majority of Americans. What else is there to tell you ? We’re not psychiatrists, we can’t explain to you why you “feel” what you feel. If you want a serious answer to your question and aren’t just humble bragging, pay a professional and lay down on a couch.
Two things:
1. Fix your mental headspace. Happiness isn’t tied to materialistic things
2. You won’t become truly rich without starting your own business. I have been running a startup on the side for 1.5 years and about to leave for full time after hitting $1mm in sales for the calendar year.

If you just want to feel Rick - Perhaps find another more meaningful source of fulfillment?
You’re better off than me if that makes you feel better
200k is the new 100k, it's certainly not "rich" and to me it barely feels well off (although I'm a saver not a spender and live well within my means).
200k is the new 100k because you’re earning over 100
Also, the people telling you to pay off your student debt ASAP have no idea what they are talking about. Assuming they are low interest as you indicate, you are better off paying the minimum and investing more.
Its not like I'm struggling or anything... And I know in rich statically. But I feel like I could be doing more.
For example, my 401k just hit $100k and I have ~$100k in cash and liquid investments. I'm also aggressively paying off my student debt with a low, refinanced interest rate plan. I thought I was doing everything right, you know?
Pay off the debt yesterday!

You can start with one...
As you make the climb from 115k to 500k they are phasing out most of your tax credits and deductions, and introducing new penalties (AMT anyone?) so you will really feel the pinch. I guess I stopped worrying about where my next meal comes from, but with 350k household, do I feel 7 times as rich as when I was making 50k a year? Not at all. Maybe twice as rich, but 20 times the responsibilities.
