Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations
Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?
What jobs are currently paying 85k?
Have an offer at Citi for 120K as an AVP in the NY office. Currently making 92K at my current role. Is this a fair offer? I currently WFH pretty much full time at my current role but it seems like this one requires 2-3 days in the office - and this is something I’m very hesitant about. Thoughts on how to approach this?

Nobody here can tell you if the promotion was approved. I would imagine it would depend on exactly how things were restructured. But if your old manager said they put you up for promotion not sure why you wouldn’t just ask your new manager for an update or if there is anything else you could do to move it along.
Bring it up immediately once you have the introduction. Don’t be pushy but make them aware. If I was taking over a team I would want to know these things if I wasn’t already aware.
My new manager seems great, but a little more hands off than the last two. I’m worried she won’t fight for me.
Whether or not she will fight for you is out of your hands. Either way, you have to talk to her if you want a chance of it happening. It's worth a shot.
I would ask about it at the very least. Keep advocating for and fighting for yourself because nobody else is going to do it for you.
I agree. You should tell your manager that you were formally up for promotion and ask if that’s still the case.
The answer may be “no” and that’s fine. Being up for promotion doesn’t guarantee one
In that case ask your new manager what you should be doing new/different to get a promotion.
