I use a firm phone because I need Teams. Can’t access Teams on your personal device here. Otherwise, the tech is great.

No teams; a blessing
The firm gives you the option of adding your personal number to their plan (where they pay for a firm issued iPhone and pay for your plan on your carrier of choice). If you choose not to put your personal number on their plan, they provide you with a firm issued “work” iPhone and pay for the plan for that phone (but do not separately reimburse for your personal phone or plan). So no matter what you have a firm paid phone and plan.
I’ve never heard the carrier of choice thing, but that might be new.
Otherwise, yes this is the setup. You can either do 1 phone and port your personal number over and the firm pays 100% of your phone costs, or you can elect to have separate work and personal phones. The LW phone will be fully paid and no restrictions on using it for personal purposes (I tend to use it more on international trips to save my data on my personal plan). But you won’t get any reimbursement - just a separate, fully paid phone.
