Now with a plan for things getting back to normal it would be a good time to address an elephant in the BigLaw Bowl. Who here has been laid off due to Covid or just during Covid? I admit I have.

Been with D for 8 months. This is my 2nd job in 2.5 years but thinking of jumping ship with all the lay-offs in my area. Will I be seen as a job hopper? Really like it here don’t want to be laid off.

I got an offer from Accenture Kolkata, for 11 yrs they are paying 30 as fixed so I like the offer.

Can you tell me about the job security at ZS specifically for ACs? How often have you guys heard of ACs being fired?

Why is it recommended you give a company 2 weeks notice when you are leaving but at the same time, when they are laying you off/firing you, they typically do it on the spot. I have known countless people layed off/fired on the spot over the years (especially after busy season) and everyone else when they leave give 2 week notice. Why should we relinquish power to corporations? Corporations really don't care about us. They pretend they do.

After 6 years of temporary contracts and unstable situations, I find my dream job in my dream company. All of a sudden the world goes upside down and I get laid off. I start sending hundreds of applications, with only 2 recruiters getting back to me to say I don’t have experience for the job (this is how it works in Italy). Add a terrible health situation in my family and it seems there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. Ugh. 😞
