Looking for ideas for hobbies / art / music . I do not find myself “artistic” nor “musical” but I’d like to find an art form to get into on the weekends and after work. I recently feel a lacking and longing for something like that . I also would like it to be based from home because I’m in the office full time and don’t need any more social engagements.
Ideas ?!

Try embroidery or crochet. Jigsaw puzzles. Reading. Cooking.

Adult coloring books?

I dusted off my old instrument from high school and joined my firm’s band!

My problem with trying new hobbies is that it seems like for a lot of them you need to buy a bunch of stuff but you don’t know if you actually like it yet. I have not tried it but I really like the concept of This Month’s Craft subscription boxes. Every month they send you everything you need to try that month’s craft. So you get to figure out if you like it before you go all in. They have a craft box or a diy box option.

Ikebana? You could pick them up in the morning on Saturdays, arrange and then have something the whole weekend to look at.

Paint by number kits? A colleague of mine made candles. I always thought making mosaics would be fun.

Crochet or knitting is nice because it’s something relaxing you can do while watching TV, listening to music, etc. And there are tons of resources for beginners.

I’d look for art classes in your area so that you can give different things a try before you commit!

Needlepoint!!!! It’s so mentally relaxing and satisfying. Not as challenging as some of the other needle hobbies.

One approach that works for me is to remember what I liked as a child.

What creative hobbies did 12-year-old you like? Pick up that thread and develop your ideas from there.

Try signing up for an online class on the weekends, to give yourself structure.

Mine recently have been cross word puzzles and listening to opera (was never my cup of tea before!)

Sticker by Number is a super low investment, fun and relaxing. Adult Lego sets are fun too, they have some neat designs these days.

I have a book of movie crossword puzzles – they're hard but I love noodling over the paper puzzles.

I've seen diy book nook kits at bookstores. They look like cute little dioramas.
