Looking for insight into dealing with a male colleague who is rude and disrespectful in meetings. It's to the point where I am so tired of being dismissed and cut off that I rarely contribute unless called upon. Fortunately my interactions are limited to twice a week but I find when they do occur I dread them in advance and ruminate about them for days. What strategies can I employ so these things roll off my back?

I'm sorry to hear that. It can be incredibly frustrating when someone undermines your worth. I've been in a similar situation where a senior constantly belittled my input, disregarded my advice, and acted as though I lacked knowledge. There was a moment when I decided to address it directly. I told them, 'If you don't value my input, then perhaps you shouldn't seek my assistance. I have valuable insights to offer, and I won't collaborate with someone who doesn't recognize that.' It was a firm message, but sometimes people need direct feedback to understand the impact of their actions. Fortunately, in my case, it led to an apology and a recognition of their behavior. Communication is key in resolving such issues

Absolutely, I completely agree. Regardless of someone's position or age, it's imperative to maintain professionalism and treat everyone with respect. Each individual deserves to be treated with dignity and courtesy, regardless of any factors. Disrespect has no place in any interaction or environment.

I have a partner who routinely ignores emails or responds to them several weeks later. He has to approve every single document sent to the client or the court, which means you have a physically go to his office to ask him to review something. Half of the time you go to meet with him in person, he’s either on a call or otherwise busy. I find that this basically creates more work and makes meeting deadlines extremely difficult. Is this normal?

I have accepted an offer for the role of Director of Data Science & Analytics and I'll be working with old colleagues. I am very excited. I haven't given notice yet because I am waiting for the background check to complete, but my boss just asked me about traveling to a meeting in November. I start at the new job Oct 25. Two years ago got fired. Reason, Boss was unhappy beacuse of my direct contact with CEO also with other higher level people. So he took my CCTV footage to show his bosses and hr that i always roming around which is true beacuse i finish my work way faster then others. I am about to leave my current organization and I have several thousand in outstanding commission owed to me. It is a start up, so I have little faith in their fulfillment if I am not there to hold them responsible. My contract says I must be paid it within 6 months of separation. I started working for a new law firm, much larger than the firm I was working for previously. The main attorney that I work under had noticed some mistakes I was making (I am a NY paralegal who took this position with the understanding that they’d be teaching me NJ and NYC real estate). Anyways, the attorney decided to tell the HR manager about the mistakes I had been making. Rather than HR discussing with me, the manager told my dramatic coworker to tell me..how should I handle this? Very hurt!

Hi ,

I have been assigned to project in tcs. I will be introduced to client only when I complete certain certification. I have been asked to complete it within a week. I am trying my best and giving 4-5 hrs daily to prepare.

Have other companies done similar? Obviously doesn't fully offset inflation but I'm glad to see the bank addressing the issue.
