Your attorney could have personally addressed it. Also I would be proactive and look over previous files to become familiar with the want they/law practice formats their legal drafts. I didnt know litigation at all, but I referenced older files and used them as my templates while figuring out all of the legal proceedings. Most places say they will train, but don’t. It’s sink or swim mentality.
I feel my attorney should’ve spoken to me directly but I also feel it is HRs responsibility to handle these things directly with the party involved. I think I’m going to call the HR manager and discuss it. I was told by the drama filled coworker that told me that I can’t say anything so either way I am going to cause more drama by addressing it. This is a major red flag and has me wondering if I need to start a new job search altogether…
Start looking for a new job … this is a set up.
HUGE red flag and sets the tone. starting over always sucks, but it’s better to be at a place that will give constructive criticism and help you learn and grow within. not tear you down and behind your back.

Is the attorney that you’re working for someone who has been there for a while? Big law is a revolving door. You may want to try and stick it out, they may leave within the year anyway!
The attorney has been with the firm for over 5 years and seems to be a staple here. I will add that a paralegal was fired, out of the blue, last month, with no notice.

An attorney in the building next door is hiring…. Might just count my blessings and move on before I get too comfortable here!
I would definitely EMAIL HR and address the situation so you have it documented. A coworker should not be addressing anyone’s mistake if they aren’t your supervisor. That is definitely not their place. You aren’t starting drama at all and they would probably do worse if they were in the same position.
