To be clear - there’s a difference between “women’s” and “women’s pavilion” in terms of the experience. Everything I’ve heard - You want the latter.
This really depends on where you live. I delivered in the med center, because that's where my guy of 15 plus years was, but no way I was driving that far for pediatric care. Also found a new OBG closer when that one retired. If you are looking ouside of the med center, stick with Methodist or Memorial Hermann Hospitals.
For hospitals TCH and Women’s are both very good. TCH is also great for pediatricians.
After trying several OBs and pediatricians, my wife uses Bella for OB, delivers at Women’s and sends our kids to Texas Children’s Post Oak. We were/are happy with all.
I was not at all happy with Bella and I switched to UT Physicians and was very happy that I did.
One major thing to consider when choosing an OB for delivery is whether it is important that your OB be the one to deliver your baby. While there are no guarantees if it is a weekend or late night/early morning, choosing an OB that is in the same building as the hospital greatly increases your chances that your OB can be there. Also, this is important if you have complications and are in the hospital for multiple days. Do you want to see the OB of the day for your practice or do you want to see your OB?
