I live next to a university, where students sell their big screen and Ergonomics office chairs for $50~
Just a thought
- Dell 38” ultrawide
- Microsoft Natural Keyboard, now sold as the Incase Ergonomic Keyboard designed by Microsoft
- chair is personal preference but make sure it can be adjusted to fit your body type properly.
LG ultra wide monitor and I don’t think I can go back to a non-ultra wide monitor again
PS5
I have a Herman Miller Aeron chair that I've had since 1998. It has required one $250 refurbishment in the interim. Best money I ever spent. I have a 34" ultrawide Dell monitor and Logitech MX Keys keyboard and M720 mouse. Also an inexpensive motorized standing desk that I got from Amazon. Extremely happy with the setup.
Samsung ultrawide - have it in the office and at home. I had bought my own keyboard and mouse for the office, so just replicated that.
No WFH attys work off a Macbook Pro?
I have an M2 MBA and just added the M4 Mac mini from Costco for $499 and love them both. I also just added a 49” odyssey monitor and today ordered the Logitech mx s keyboard
I love my Mac but some things are limited functionality. Luckily my firm uses a Remote Desktop program that essentially gives me windows capability when I need it for things like billing software. Otherwise, ever since M365 and onedrive rolled out I’ve had far less difficulty going between OS
Get a Logitech mx keyboard and mouse. I switch between my personal laptop and office laptop with that setup.
Samsung 43” 4K monitor paired with a 32” 4K monitor( for my calendar only 😬 - I get a lot of meeting requests…IYKYK as an in house lawyer). )Can compare two Word documents side by side at 125% on the 43” monitor. It’s the best…
4K monitor changed my damn life.

Secretlab gaming chair beat the snot out of the Herman Millers. I use a pair of generic Dell 27” monitors mounted to my adjustable desk, one landscape and one portrait(my workflow does better with 2 separate screens rather than 1 ultra wide.
For a keyboard I recommend anything mechanical with a good tactile experience. Good strong return is clutch for ergonomics, I hate those soft butterfly keys.
Herman Miller Embody chair. HHKB keyboard. KEF speakers and sub. Dual LG 32” 4k monitors.
Definitely invest in multiple monitor arms. I have 4 monitors and it’s a super space saver.
Many people suggest ultra wide but I am personally more a fan of having three monitors. Definitely get the monitor arms. Perhaps separate ones for better movement. And a monitor light bar
It lights up your desk and helps with glare on screen
Tried the Herman miller aeron and didn’t love the hard mesh seat or plastic around the edges. Currently have a Haworth zody but would love to get a Haworth fern one day.
Steelcase Leap chair has worked well for me for years. Paid under $300 and worlds better than any chair from an office supply store.
